Did you ever try to sell a domain at Sedo? Well, I did! Actually, I am an old seller there.
Today I got an offer for one of my domains. Basically, Sedo is inviting me to sell, well, to give away a domain almost for free.
Here is what they are proposing..
| You have the following options: |
|
|
Option A: Confirm Offer – Sell Domain |
|
|
Sell Domain at the agreed price: 60 EUR
| Sales Price: |
60 |
EUR |
| Less Sedo Fees: |
-50 |
EUR |
| Amount to be paid: |
10 |
EUR |
|
|
Anything strange here? Well, yes! It is strange! They want to earn more form the sale than I do! 50 EURO commission? For what? What did they do to help me sell? Nothing, I am using their site and that`s it!
Will I sell my domains for 10 EURO? NO, NEVER!
Conclusion: Sedo is good for high value sites/domains, 10% is an OK commission, but for low priced domains… it really sux!
What do you recommend?
There is something you could do. Got an offer like mine? Park you domain at Sedo fast. In a few hours your figures will change.
If the domain is parked at Sedo the fees are less.
JS is right, I just tried this today..
switched nameservers and refreshed bid details an hour later and the $50 minimum was gone
